Captain JP Granath
JP was born and raised in Vero Beach, Florida where he discovered his love and appreciation for the ocean. Growing up 256 steps from the beach, he spent a majority of his time on the water surfing, boating, spearfishing, diving and fishing. JP’s first boat was a 10’ zodiac that he would keep on the beach during the Summer months. He would motor up and down the coast between Sebastian inlet and Fort Pierce inlet learning the reef systems and fisheries.
Fishing has been in JPs life since before he could remember. At a young age, he was taught many different styles and types of fishing from his Dad and Grandfather, whom mastered the art of fishing in Florida. JP dedicated himself to understanding the in’s and outs of catching fish. From studying migration patterns of species to understanding weather and climate, JP has made it his goal to master his local fishery like his Father and Grandfather have.
JP is a social butterfly and has yet to meet someone he doesn’t get along with. Whether it’s a laugh from a joke or putting you on a fish of a life time, JP thrives on making the people around him happy. When he is not fishing, he is working at the Indian River County Fire Department serving the community that he loves.
